The mutant-friendly Wyoming punk band, The ShiverZ, gave a very bloody birth to new EP, “Songs About The End.” The EP was released on February 22. It was recorded, mixed, and mastered by “The Wizard” Ryan Kahler.
Front & back album art by guitarist, Cole Moser.
Horror nerdom continues to rage in this 80s’ metal meets Misfit energy of an EP. The ShiverZ kick off with the sweet, but desolate “Kamikaze Asteroid,” before discussing the nuances of turning into a clicker (“We Are Clickerz”), and then rounding the EP out with an ode to Stranger Things (“Demogorgon”).
“Shitz Fuct” stands out with its relatable lyrics, Descendents-like fun and speed, and Jello Biafra-esque vocals from singer, Travis Oliver. The EP ends with a Deathgasm-worthy salute to all things creepy-crawly in “Originz of Mummification.” Asked how the band came together on the EP title, “It was a very easy choice, it’s 7 songs referencing Doomsday theories and long ago Prophecies or just crazy current world issues.”
Make sure to listen & memorize the entire EP before The ShiverZ’ March 30 show with Teenage Bottlerocket, Brendan Kelly, and Redbush at The Oil City Beer Company in Casper, Wyoming. This show is part of the 8th Annual Brandon Birthday Bash Tour in memoriam of Teenage Bottlerocket’s late drummer, Brandon Carlisle.
